  【10th Anniversary of COE】Congratulations from 8 academicians

Ardent and sincere congratulations

on COE's 10th anniversary！

We were all students of COE PKU before 1952. PKU educated us, as we have been concerning about our old school. COE was canceled in 1952 so that PKU became a university with only arts, sciences and law departments. We paid attention to PKU's changes on our own positions and thought about its engineering education from the prespectives of our own work.

Our nation decided to rebuild COE in 2005, by which we were so cheered up. We wished COE to develop healthily from the bottom of our hearts.

COE has gained huge accomplishment during the 10 years since it was rebuilt. We know that the new COE have had 6 majors, 828 enrollments and 298 graduates for bachelor; 14 majors, 806 enrollments and 298 graduates for master; and 11 majors, 737 enrollments and 298 graduates for PhD. The new COE lays emphasis to contact with the internation and focuses on innovation as well as persist in our country's demands and our university's features. We believe that the new COE can definitely cultivate the engineering talents with high professional skills who are desired by our country.

PKU's spirit of "Patriotism, Progression, Scientism and Democracy" and COE's spirit of "Devotion, Pragmatism, and Hard struggle" educated us when we were in school. Today we are happy to see the aim proposed by COE, "Taking over the baton of the 100 year old COE". We sincerely wish the new COE a brighter future!

Let's make effors in our different positions and make differences for our motherland's science career constantly!
