A review will be provided of the state-of-the-art in large eddy simulation (LES) of turbulence
via the " filtered density function" (FDF) and it's massively parallel simulations. A tutorial will
also be provided of quantum computing and its potentials for FDF simulations.

Peyman Givi is the Distinguished Professor, and James T. MacLeod Endowed Professor of Engi-
neering at the University of Pittsburgh. He has received the NASA Public Service Medal for his
work on FDF, and was the first recipient of the Presidential Faculty Award from President George
Bush. Dr. Givi is Fellow of AIAA, APS, ASME and AAAS.
