As the turbulence research center in China, our laboratory engages in the theoretical research, experiments and calculation as a whole, aims at solving the national foundation subject problems facing on major applications.

LTCS is founded by the recommendation of the late Prof. Chou P.-Y., the former president of Peking University. Now the Laboratory is led by Cheung Kong Scholars Shi-Yi Chen and Zhen-Su She, which attracts lots of young scientists to join in.

LTCS innovates boldly in the idea of turbulence research, promotes the cooperation of relative research units. Finally, sets up the turbulence and other mechanics research platform which has reached the international level.

LTCS organizes many international academic conferences, keeps firm cooperative relationship with more than thirty famous academic institutes in China and abroad. An international platform on turbulence research was established.
